Visuals, posts and feeds around us are replete with the ever swelling Covid19 statistics and the havoc with which pandemic has engulfed all of us. Though the daily death tolls and infections increasing each day along with the positivity rate, we have good intentions pouring from all over the world.

Recently Google and Microsoft announced 135 Cr aid to help India grapple the pandemic battle with its voice, resources and technology (The Hindu, 27.04.21). With oxygen plants being set up in Delhi and the nation battling against the situation with every bits and pieces available, this piece of writing shall not fill you with another data set and the horrific vibe around us with each phone call indicating some ailing situation but would remind you the ways to keep that very gut of yours going and indulging with the silver lining.

Lets delve into the life which we embrace as living and evade the stagnant omen:

  1. Indulge into positive reading:

Reading being a very good exercise tapping the energy of your intellect and brain, with all the content available for consumption has been Covid19 battling stories and tales of death and dreading times, lending time for some real good literature would deviate and channelize the energy in manifesting positivity. This can be anything in the language of your comfort and of any genre. It can include ‘panchatantra’ stories, holy books, fiction and non-fiction novels by various authors, cookery books, regional magazines or even jokes and and light literature would fill you with enough engagement for the day.

2. Listing and maintaining a good schedule :

Just as we vouch for some free time from our busy schedule of work and crave to get those free ‘me-time’ hours from the day, it is just very apt in present times to keep yourself engaged. This basis of engagement and a chronicle of small tasks for the day will keep you occupied and would not spare you with time to over think and be more critical of the already grilling situation. planning the day out and following it diligently doing various activities would keep the sanity intact. Just list out tidbits and do it.

3. Look for those past hobbies:

Hobbies are somethings which every individual finds solace in doing. If we figure out and dig within ourselves, each individual has some or the other window which he/she likes, be it painting, listening to songs, watch those old classics which were in your ‘watchlist’ since ages, trying that favorite dish you savored on that food show, crafts and the list would go on. The basic idea is not to keep oneself engaged mechanically but to be mindful at the same time.

4. Develop a basic exercise routine:

Those rigorous cardio sessions and aerobic classes is not the need of the hour but doing any form of exercise as per the convenience is what is required. Including deep breathing exercises in your basic 30 minutes of workout would serve the very purpose of lowering stress, relaxing mind and body along with being the cherry for Covid19 which excessively takes a toll on lungs.

5. Taking care:

Compassion has been the greatest virtue of all times and what time would require it the most if not now, not only for others but for ones own self as well. All weak and strong bonds are eventually built with time and emotions, but such times are testing it through all. Keeping a tap on your surroundings and their well being is becoming of utmost importance during such time of crisis and need. Although social ties are showing a phenomenal aid system which even the government machinery is failing to do, but first helping ones own self and taking good care of self is primary to curb such a gruesome situation.

6. Learning something new:

Doing a little research down your memory lane would be enough for you to zero down that one interest you have wanted to learn. It could be any skill that you would have thought could be takeaway but couldn’t do due to time constrain. Learning is a beautiful process requiring concentration, devotion and consistency at the same time and so ensures channelizing the energy in something fruitful. Try to find and invest yourself in something novel and taking those tiny steps towards marrying that very skill.
